    Put On Love

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12-15‬ ESV)

There is so much richness in these words from the Bible. When we put on love everything is bound together in perfect harmony. When we put on love we are able to have compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

When we put on love we are able to bear with one another and forgive each other as the Lord Jesus has forgiven us.

When we put on love the peace of Christ can rule in our hearts.

When we put on love we can be thankful.

So choose today to love no matter what circumstances of life you are facing.

Put on love today and watch how contagious it can be.   🙂

    Praise the Lord!

“Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!” (‭Psalm‬ ‭117‬:‭1-2‬ ESV)

The Lord is good and worthy of our praise. Take some time now to praise the Lord and thank Him for His steadfast love toward you.

Think of the many ways He has been faithful to you and thank Him for His faithfulness.

    Praise the Lord!

    The Lord is My Shepherd

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (‭Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭1-4‬ ESV)

A good shepherd leads, feeds, and protects his sheep. He lays down his life for his sheep. The sheep have no fear for they know that their shepherd is caring for them.

The Lord is the Good Shepherd. His children who trust in Him can have rest for their souls because He cares for them.

Put your trust and your hope in the Lord Jesus today and find rest and restoration for your soul.

Why are you in despair?…Hope in God

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” (‭Psalm‬ ‭42‬:‭11‬ ESV)

Often the reason our soul becomes cast down and in turmoil within us is because we put our hope in worldly things rather than God.

We become burdened and upset when things don’t go as we want or hoped they would go. So we worry. We have no peace or rest for our souls.

Many times these worries and burdens are over things that are out of our control. It is as if we subconsciously believe that the energy we spend worrying will somehow cause a positive outcome for the thing we are concerned about.

The remedy for worry and despair in our souls is to hope in God. To put our faith and trust in Him. To understand that He is working and to rest in His work. To believe that He is working for our good and the good of those who are called by Him.

Often we don’t understand His work and are impatient to wait on it. That is what faith and trust is about.

So turn your soul’s despair into dancing by putting your hope in God today.

    God is Light…

“God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭5-9‬ ESV)

Are you walking in the light or in the darkness?

Turn to Jesus and walk in His light today.

Confess your sins to him, for He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from evil.

Walk in His light so that you may have peace with God and your joy may be made full today.

    Wait on the Lord

    “I waited patiently for the LORD;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.

He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
    out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
    making my steps secure.

He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
    Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the LORD.”
    (Psalm 40:1-4)

God always hears our prayers when we pray through faith in Christ.

    Sometimes He answers “yes.”

    Sometimes He answers “no.”

Sometimes we don’t get an answer. It’s in those times that we must wait on the Lord as the Psalmist writes. We wait on the Lord by trusting that He has heard our cry and is working to bless us. Not necessarily with material blessing, but with spiritual blessings. Often He is working to strengthen our faith, build our character, and teach us patience.

He hears our cry and in the perfect timing will pull us up out of the pit we feel like we are stuck and drowning in. He will set our feet on a rock and make our steps secure. He knows what we truly need and always provides for our needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.

It’s in these times of rescue that we praise Him all the more. We tell of the great work God has done in our lives so that others will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord also.

It’s often hard to wait on the Lord isn’t it? We want answers and we want them now. When the answers don’t come quickly, be encouraged and know that the Lord hears your cry for help and is working. He is working for your good and will provide for all your needs as you faithfully trust in Him and wait.

Give Thanks to the Lord for He Is Good

“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary 3 And gathered from the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; They did not find a way to an inhabited city. 5 They were hungry and thirsty; Their soul fainted within them. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. 7 He led them also by a straight way, To go to an inhabited city. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men! 9 For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.” Psalm 107:1-9

There are many words in this passage that refresh my soul and renew my spirit.

The passage begins with thanksgiving to the Lord because He is good. His lovingkindness is everlasting. God is love, and His love endures forever. Thank you Lord for your great love.

I’m encouraged to speak of the redemption I’ve gained from the Lord. He has redeemed my soul by grace through faith in Jesus Christ from the pit of emptiness and death that I deserve for my sin. Thank you for saving me Lord.

I was hungry and thirsty in my soul and he has satisfied me with what is good.

    Thank you Lord.
