With His Wounds We Are Healed

“He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” (‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭3-5‬ ESV)

Many when they hear these verses think immediately of Jesus Christ and think that they are from the New Testament of the Bible. It’s amazing that they are written about Jesus, but are from the prophet Isaiah and recorded in the Old Testament.  God gave Isaiah these words hundreds of years before Jesus walked the earth and was crucified for our sins.

Jesus died on the cross to save all those who would believe in Him from their sins. He took the wrath of God we deserve for our sins on Himself on the cross. His death was no ordinary death. He experienced the full wrath of God in His death.

He was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

Jesus died for you.

Will you live for Him?
