    My Soul Thirsts for God

“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.

My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.” (‭Psalm‬ ‭63‬:‭1-8‬ ESV)

You Are the Salt of the Earth

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ESV)

    How salty are you?

Do people see the way you act and live and talk as someone who walks with God and follows Jesus, or do you simply follow the crowd?

Salt gives flavor and preservs what it is applied to. Be that influence for Christ in the world today.

    Fear Not

“Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear not the reproach of man, nor be dismayed at their revilings. For the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool; but my righteousness will be forever, and my salvation to all generations.” (‭Isaiah‬ ‭51‬:‭7-8‬ ESV)

Often we fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of what others may say about us. Fear of what others may do to us.

God’s salvation overcomes those who do evil. Trust in Him and walk in His peace today.

    Give Thanks to the Lord

“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!” (‭Psalm‬ ‭105‬:‭1-3‬ ESV)

Give thanks to the Lord and let your heart rejoice and be glad in Him today. 😀

    Blessed are the Persecuted

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭10-12‬ ESV)

There are millions of people in the world today who are persecuted, abused, arrested, and even tortured for one reason alone: they love Jesus Christ.

Persecution is most alive in Islamic countries and China.

You can learn more on how to pray for and help our persecuted fellow believers at the Voice of the Martyrs.

    Blessed are the Peacemakers

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ESV)

Are you a peacemaker or a strife maker?

Do you speak words of love and peace to build others up, or do your words criticize and tear others down?

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are the Pure in Heart

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ESV)

God’s desire for us is to be holy as He is holy.

He desires for us to turn from sin and walk in righteousness. He wants us to think, say, and do what is right and pure. He wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. He wants us to love others as we love ourselves.

That is what it takes to be pure in heart.

That can only happen by being born again by grace through faith in Jesus.

Put your trust in Jesus today and ask Him to make your heart pure.  Then you shall see God in all His glory.

    Blessed are the Merciful

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ESV)

Lord help us today to show mercy to others the way You have shown mercy to us.

So often we are harsh toward others who have wronged us.

We need Your help to show mercy and grace instead.
