    Sing Songs of Praise

“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.”

    Comfort When Death Stings

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

My Grandfather Chester Rains passed on to be with Jesus yesterday.

He was a great man of faith whom I loved dearly.

I’m thankful to God for him. He modeled Christlikeness to me and we shared many good times together reflecting on the goodness and mercy of our Lord.

He is with Jesus now. There is no better place to be.

    The Lord is Good

‘Make a joyful noise to the Lord , all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord , he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.’ Psalms 100:1-5

    Enjoy Your Life

    Practice Righteousness

“Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”

God’s Greatest Command is to Love

“We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:19-21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    http://bible.com/59/1jn.4.19-21.esv

If you want to fulfill and obey the greatest commandment from God then look to love.

There is no room for hate. If God can love you, a rebel and a sinner, and send Jesus to die for you, then you can love others. Even others who have sinned against you.

Ask Jesus to give you that kind of love for others today.

It All Comes Down To Faith and Love

“And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.”

    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    http://bible.com/59/1jn.3.23.esv

So often we complicate the gospel message and what God’s will for our lives is.

We see in God’s word that to keep the commandments of God is to believe in Jesus for salvation and to love each other.

    Plain and simple.

    Do Not Love the World

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

    Only One Lord and Savior

“”You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.

I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.”

    Trust in the Lord

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
