“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Think about the people you love.

Now think about how you can model the description of love from 1 Corinthians to them today.

    You Hold Me Now

I love the lyrics to this song by Hillsong.

They tell of the beauty and wonder of eternity in Heaven for all who put their faith in Jesus.

On that day when I see
All that You have for me
When I see You face to face
    There surrounded by Your grace

All my fear is swept away
In the light of your embrace
When Your love is all I need
    And forever I am free

Where the streets are made of gold
In Your presence healed and whole
Let the songs of heaven rise to you alone

No weeping, no hurt or pain
No suffering You hold me now
    You hold me now
No darkness no sick or lame
No hiding You hold me now,
    You hold me now

In this life I will stand
Through my joy and my pain
    Knowing there’s a greater day
There’s a hope that never fails

When Your name is lifted high
    And forever praises rise
For the glory of Your Name
    I’m believing for the day

When the wars and violence cease
    All creation lives in peace
Let the songs of heaven rise to you alone

No weeping, no hurt or pain
No suffering You hold me now
    You hold me now
No darkness, no sick or lame
No hiding You hold me now,
    You hold me now

    For eternity
    All my heart will give
All the glory to Your name

    God’s steadfast love endures forever

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”‭‭Psalm‬ ‭100:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Make time today to praise the Lord.

Thank Him for His great love.

    Jesus Satisfies Your Soul

Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!  For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.
    Psalm 107:8-9 ESV

In this Christmas season take time to thank the Lord Jesus for humbling Himself to come to this world to save us from our sins.

Thank Him for satisfying your hungry and thirsty soul with His love, joy, and peace.

Your Mouth Speaks From Your Heart

“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew‬ ‭12:34-37‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What you say matters. The words that come out of your mouth are a reflection of what is living in your heart.

Think about what you say. Do your words come from a heart filled with the love, joy, and peace of Jesus?

    Give Thanks To The Lord

“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.” (Psalm 9:1-2)
We have so much to be thankful for and to praise the Lord for in our lives.
We have food to eat, clothes to wear, a roof over our heads, yet often we are stressed out and unthankful.
Most of all we have salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Take time to give thanks to Jesus today and remember all of His wonderful work in your life.

    God Delights in Truth

“Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.”‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It is amazing to me how much lying goes on in the world, even by people who claim to love Christ.

The concept of a “white lie” that doesn’t hurt anyone is evil. A lie is a lie. God hates lies. Lies are of the Devil. Satan is the father of lies.

God delights in the truth. Be truthful today in your heart and with your tongue.

Have Mercy on Me O God

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:1-2, 16-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

God isn’t interested in our religious rituals. He cares about the heart. He desires our holiness and love.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit that treasures Christ above all in this world.

O God, cleanse me from my sins and create in me a clean heart today.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    Some say “Seeing is believing.”

That is the opposite of faith. Faith is believing in what you can not see.

Faith is believing God exists, even though He can not be seen with your eyes.

One of the central themes of the Bible is faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Trust in Him today.  Put your hope in Him and find rest for your soul.
